Two Nights of Hog Hunting with Peanut Protector, Guide Capt. Clayton

At Pig Problem, the team embraces the wild, unpredictable, and downright hilarious adventures that come with Hog Hunting. Recently, Guide Capt. Clayton, affectionately known as the Peanut Protector, had the pleasure of leading a fantastic group on a 2 Night Hog Hunting excursion, filled with unforgettable stories and plenty of laughter.

Night 1: Old Friends and New Adventures

Reuniting with familiar faces is always a treat in the Hunting world. On this trip, Andy and John returned after successfully Wild Hog Hunting with Pig Problem Inc two years ago. With excitement in the air, the Hog Hunt began.

Early in the night, the group spotted a small hog lounging in a peanut field, surrounded by a curious gathering of deer. The evening appeared to be brimming with potential!

As they carefully moved through the flipped peanut field, Andy and John found a good vantage point. After taking aim, they took two shots, successfully dropping the Hog. However, the excitement didn’t end there; as the group approached the Wild Hog, they realized it was still alive. In a great show of teamwork, Andy handed over his SIG P322 pistol, equipped with a suppressor and TLR8, to Capt. Clayton for the final dispatch, turning a tense moment into a shared experience.

Although the rest of the night was quieter—only spotting a few deer—the camaraderie on the Hunt kept spirits high. One particularly amusing instance was Andy’s unique countdown method whenever he prepared to take a shot. While our guides count down “3, 2, BANG,” Andy preferred “3, 2, Big Titties.” Capt. Clayton couldn’t help but chuckle at Andy's seriousness whenever he expressed this countdown style on the range.

Night 2: A Little Bit of Chaos

If Night 1 was memorable, Night 2 was nothing short of exhilarating. The group kicked off the night with the excitement of taking down 2 Wild Hogs and a Coyote .

Capt. Clayton quickly spotted a single Pig early in the night, but as they began their stalk, a deer started snorting loudly, spooking the Wild Pig back into the safety of the trees. Capt. Clayton humorously reflected on the situation, imagining himself choking out a deer right on the spot—a testament to his frustration with deer as the second least favorite animal to encounter at night. Number one on that list? Birds—Capt. Clayton had no love for birds either.

After a long stretch of quiet, the nighttime adventure picked up again around 2 AM, and the team had a solid opportunity to take aim at (another) coyote, resulting in a successful shot.

A Memorable Experience

While the first night had its challenges, the laughter and camaraderie made everything worthwhile. Each Wild Hog Hunt brings unique obstacles and surprises, and it’s often the unexpected moments—like deer creating chaos—that create the Best Hunting Memories.

As the Two-Night Hunting Adventure came to a close, the team expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share their passion for Nighttime Hunting with a group excited to embrace the wild experiences that come with it. Every adventure brings everyone closer together, creating unforgettable stories to cherish.

Thanks to Andy and John who joined Capt. Clayton on this Two-Night Hunting Trip. The crew at Pig Problem Inc is already looking forward to their next round in the field. At Pig Problem, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting a memorable retirement celebration for Chris and Scott, who traveled down south to Americus, GA, for an exciting night of Hog Hunting. Led by our esteemed Guide Capt Max, this adventure was not just a Hunting Trip; it was a celebration of years of hard work and friendship.

As the sun set over the beautiful Georgia landscape, Chris and Scott geared up for some Thrilling Thermal Hog Hunting. The night was filled with camaraderie and excitement as the group set out into the darkness, eager to encounter the elusive Wild Boars that roam the area.

It didn’t take long for the Hunters to spot their first Sounder. With keen eyes and the advantage of thermal optics, they navigated the terrain in search of their quarry. The thrill of Night Hunting is unmatched, and with two distinct Groups of Hogs observed during their adventure, the tension was palpable. While only one Boar was ultimately brought down, the encounters with two different Sounders made for an exhilarating night under the stars.

Thermal Hog Hunt Report: Guide Kevin Leads Successful Nighttime Adventure

Pig Problem's Thermal Hog Hunt, led by Guide Kevin, recently wrapped up a thrilling and challenging night Hog Hunt that tested the skills of our Hog Hunters. Under the cover of darkness, our team embarked on a 10-hour Hunting Adventure from 7pm to 5am, utilizing the latest thermal imaging technology to track down their elusive targets.

The night was filled with excitement as our team stumbled upon a Massive Sounder of approximately 18 Wild Hogs, presenting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take down these Cunning Creatures. Despite the difficulty of Hunting moving targets, Guide Kevin and his team remained focused and determined.

After a well-placed shot, the team managed to take down one impressive Hog, a testament to their skill and expertise. However, it's worth noting that Hunting Wild Hogs is an extremely challenging endeavor, requiring precision, patience, and repeated practice.

As Guide Kevin pointed out, "Hunting Wild Hogs is not for the faint of heart. It's a rare individual who can hit a target that's running 15 miles per hour and stands only 3 feet tall." The Hunt is truly a test of skill and endurance, making it all the more satisfying when a successful kill is achieved.

Father and Son Hunting

Photo: Hunting Wild Hogs @PigProblem

Guide Capt Max took a father and son on a 1 night hog hunt at Pig Problem. It turned out to be the farthest Stalk he had ever done. Ben and Jeff, the son and father duo, worked diligently to Take Down The Hogs. The group had to regroup and rethink their angles to ensure successful shots. After some strategy adjustments, they finally managed to get on the Big Sounder and successfully took down 3 Wild Hogs. Guide Capt Max found this Hunt to be extremely rewarding and was thrilled with its success.

The Ultimate Hog Sniper

Last night, Guide Capt Clayton, also known as Guide Peanut Protector, led this customer on our first Hog Hunt of March for Pig Problem and it was one for the books! They found Pigs in the first field they entered and were lucky enough to drop 4 of them with only one guy shooting. It goes to show that you don't need a large group to handle these Pesky Hogs - you just need someone like Jeff.

Jeff, a surgeon by day, proved to be a Nightmare for the Wild Hogs at night. His precision and skill on the Hunt was unmatched, leaving the Wild Pigs trembling in fear. Thanks to Jeff, the rest of the night was quiet as no more Hogs were spotted, becasue all the Wild Hogs were scared of him.

Reflecting on the night, Guide Capt Clayton acknowledged the unique talent that Jeff brought to the Hunt. He humbly shared, "It’s a blessing and a curse being this good." Here's to many more Successful Hunts and Jeff continuing to be a force to be reckoned with in the World of Hog Hunting.

Don't Steal From Us

Very slow night. Saw some Piglets that have a sixth sense about humans because they have been shot at since they were in the womb so basically Peanut Protector Clayton need a hand grenade and some face paint to get the job done with those ones. Then this Big Boar was hanging out in the middle of the field just eating nuts and stuff having a good day until Guide Capt Clayton ruined his day. Does Guide Peanut Protector Clayton feel bad? No. “My job is too ruin Pigs days so that they don’t ruin farmers days. Farmers > Pigs” -Guide Capt Clayton

On night 2 of their Wild Hog Hunt, the group was accompanied by Guide Capt Max, who took them to a previously unexplored field. They had two encounters with Wild Hogs before a rainstorm interrupted their Hunt. However, the group was successful in sighting and taking down their targets, achieving a 100% success rate for the night. The group of guys proved to be exceptional and we hope they enjoyed the Thermal Hog Hunting Experience . We hope that these Hunters will return in the future for more Exciting Hunting Adventures!

Why We Hunt Wild Hogs

Photo: These Guys Know Why We Hunt Wild Hogs @PigProblem

Photo: Predator Hunts @PigProblem

Hunting Wild Hogs in Georgia is important due to the significant negative impacts they have on the environment, Agriculture, and native wildlife. Wild Hogs are non-native, highly adaptable, and invasive species that reproduce quickly and Cause Extensive Damage.

One of the primary reasons to Hunt Wild Hogs is to control their population. Without any natural Predators, their numbers can rapidly increase, leading to overpopulation. These Hogs Destroy Crops, damage agricultural fields, and negatively impact the economic well-being of Farmers and landowners. By Hunting the Hogs, their population can be managed, minimizing their destructive effects on agriculture and preserving livelihoods.

Additionally, Wild Pigs cause significant ecological damage. Their rooting behavior, where they use their snouts to dig and uproot soil, tears through vegetation and destroys habitats for native wildlife. This disruption in the ecosystem can lead to a decrease in biodiversity and negatively impact native plant species. Hunting Hogs helps restore balance to the ecosystem and prevent further ecological damage.

Wild hogs also pose a threat to human safety. They can be aggressive, especially when startled or cornered, and their large size and sharp tusks make them dangerous. By Hunting and controlling their population, the risk of dangerous encounters with humans and domestic animals is reduced.

Overall, Hunting Wild Pigs in Georgia is crucial to protect the environment, preserve agriculture, and ensure public safety. It helps control their population, minimize ecological damage, and safeguard livelihoods through sustainable and responsible management of this invasive species. Help us control the Wild Hog Population. Book a Hunt.
