Some nights test your patience, your wind reading, and your ability to adapt — and this was one of those nights. Guide Hank led this 1-Night Hog Hunt, and even with challenging conditions, the group still ended the night with solid success.

A Pig Right Out of the Gate

The Wild Hog Hunt began when the team spotted a hog from the road. As soon as they pulled into the field, the hog slipped into the treeline directly in front of them. That’s how fast things can change in South Georgia farmland — timing and movement matter.

A Sounder on the Opposite Side

Hank turned the group around and checked the opposite side of the field, where a full sounder was already out feeding. The wind wasn’t ideal, and the positioning made the approach tricky.

Even with those challenges, the team made the most of the opportunity and managed to connect with one of the hogs, though it moved off before they could reach it.

Returning to the First Spot

While searching the fields, the team noticed another hog back on the side where they originally started. They circled back, moved in carefully, and this time everything came together smoothly. The hog stayed in the open long enough for Hank to guide the group into a clean, controlled approach, ending with a successful recovery.

Some nights out Hunting in Georgia turn quiet — and then suddenly everything happens at once.

Guide Clayton led a father-and-son duo on a Thermal Hog Hunt that started off with great stories and easy conversation. They covered field after field, scanning through the night with their Thermal, but the pigs weren’t showing themselves early on.

Then, around 2 a.m., everything changed. The group spotted a Big Single Boar about 150 yards out in the open. They got set up, took their shots, and dropped the pig clean. Just two seconds later, a Coyote came prancing out and stopped right in front of them — the son didn’t hesitate and dropped it with one perfect shot.

Two animals, one incredible moment. Both the hog and coyote dropped less than 20 feet apart, ending the night with an unforgettable story and plenty of laughs.

Night two of this two-night South Georgia Hog Hunt with Pig Problem was one for the books.

Guide Clayton and his Hunters were locked in from the start — moving with precision and patience that made it look like they’d done this a thousand times before. The result? Three Wild Hogs down under the South Georgia night sky.

They almost had a fourth, but that last pig managed to slip into chest-high grass and earned himself a bit of peace for the night. Still, the team couldn’t have asked for a better ending to their Guided Thermal Hog Hunt.

Clayton shared a cool insight after the Wild Hog Hunt: for the last two days, he’s been eating only meat, salt, and water — living like hunters did long ago. “I wanted to feel what it was like to be human before everything got easy,” he said. “And I feel amazing.”

Guided Hog Hunting

Night one came and went without a single Pig in sight. Sometimes that’s just how it goes — long hours, good company, and a reminder that success in Hog Hunting isn’t guaranteed.

But by night two, things finally turned around. Zev and his hunters located a sounder of about ten pigs over on Pryor Road. He got the group in close for the perfect setup, and when it was time to fire, they managed to drop one. Not the whole sounder, but enough to bring home some meat and a story to tell.

They later spotted more pigs over at Bazemoor, but the group couldn’t quite close the distance before the pigs slipped away into the night. Even so, everyone got to see what South Georgia Thermal Hunting is all about — long nights, fast decisions, and plenty of excitement once the pigs show up.

Guiding isn’t always easy, but Zev kept things moving and made sure everyone had a good time. Sometimes the pigs win, and that’s what keeps us all coming back for more. That’s the name of the game of Hunting.

Some nights out here in South Georgia test your patience, your grit, and your faith all at once. This was one of those nights. Guide Hank and his hunter, Ryan, were covering field after field with no pigs in sight. The clock crept toward 4 a.m.—prime time for calling it quits—but Hank wasn’t ready to give up.

As they rolled up on the last two fields, Hank said a quick prayer, asking the Lord to bring out some pigs before the night was over so Ryan could head home with some meat and a story worth telling. “We both said amen and kept on moving,” Hank said.

The first field was empty. The second didn’t look much better. Hank stopped on a high spot and scanned the area—nothing, not even a deer. Disappointed, he decided to wait it out a little longer, giving it until the last possible minute before packing up. When he powered the optic back on for one final scan, the field had completely changed. “It was littered with pigs,” he said with a laugh.

Hank grabbed Ryan and set him up for the shot. When it was over, Ryan had taken down three pigs and filled the cooler with a good haul of meat.

It was a perfect ending to a long night—and a reminder that sometimes, all you can do is Hog Hunt on a prayer.

Our latest Hog Hunting Trip in Americus, GA was led by guides Clayton and Hank on a split Boar Hunt. While it may look like the same Wild Hog from different angles, it was actually three different hogs taken during Clayton’s part of the night. The Thermal Hunt started off slow, but as soon as the moon dropped around 2 a.m., the animals began to move and opportunities opened up. Every shot taken resulted in a hog on the ground — a true sign of a successful night.

Meanwhile, on Hank’s side of the Hog Hunt, the group had a productive outing but decided to call it a night early, heading in around 4 a.m. Even with no photos, it was still a solid Wild Hog Hunt and a reminder that every group’s pace is different.

Wild hogs continue to cause major damage to farmland across South Georgia, and nights like this show why Guided Thermal Hog Hunting in Americus is such an important experience. This Wild Hog Hunt started off slow, but once the deer started moving heavy, the action picked up. Not long after 1am, they spotted a small sounder of pigs. They made the stalk, got in range, and they got big sow. Guide Kaleb scanned for others that might’ve been hit, but nothing turned up.

Later in the night, they found another Wild Hog, but it kept moving and slipped onto another property before we could get on it.

Great group of guys to have out — good laughs and a solid Thermal Hog Hunt.

This week’s Hog Hunt with Guide Kaleb turned into a night to remember. It started slow with only a few deer, but everything changed when we spotted a single Wild Hog off to the side of a Big Sounder. With the wind in our favor, one clean shot dropped it instantly.

Minutes later, five more broke off and came straight to us. The hunters didn’t miss—dropping all five.

Six Hogs down in one field, all within minutes. A perfect night of action and a Thermal Hog Hunt our crew won’t forget.

First Time Hunting

Guided by Kaleb, this Hog Hunt began under a heavy downpour, but we had our eyes on a field just outside the storm. We waited there for a bit, watching plenty of deer moving through. Once the skies cleared, it was time to make our move.

Not long after, we spotted a Sounder in the distance. They trekked through thick, sticky mud for a long stalk before finally getting set up. The effort paid off — one young Hunter achieved his very first harvest on his very First Hunt. The excitement on his face said it all — he was hooked.

The night wasn’t over yet. In another field, we found four more Pigs and began another careful stalk. They were on the move, but the hunter still managed to make solid contact before they disappeared into the trees. The rest of the night brought more deer sightings, but the highlight remained that first success — a memory that will stick with him for years to come. We hope to see him back for more Thermal Hog Hunting!

This week, Guide Kaleb led a Father-and-Son Hunting duo on an exciting 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunting adventure.

Night One

Under a bright full moon and cooler temps, the night started with plenty of deer sightings. After a careful stalk, the group located a Sounder of Hogs and successfully harvested two. Later, they spotted another group of Wild Hogs, but it was on neighboring property, so they could only watch from a distance. The crisp breeze and great company made for a memorable first night.

Night Two

The evening kicked off with more deer before the team came across hogs in the second field. Two were secured early on, followed by another quick stalk, though that Hog made it to cover just in time. The rest of the night was quiet, but the father and son left with smiles, already planning their return Hog Hunting Trip next year.
