Fully Guided Hog Hunts

Hunting Georgia In Cold Weather

Sometimes the South Georgia weather has a bigger impact on Wild Hog movement than anything we do in the field — and Night 1 of this Hog Hunt with Guide Clay was a perfect example.

The temperature dropped from the mid-50s the night before to below freezing, and the fields told the story:
empty field after empty field after empty field.

Wild hogs are incredibly sensitive to sudden temperature swings, and when the weather shifts this fast, they often change their patterns completely. What’s usually reliable ground becomes quiet, and even thermal struggle to pick up movement.

Around 4:00 AM, Clay finally spotted three hogs in a distant field. But before he could even pull in and get the van parked, the pigs drifted straight into the trees. They never stopped moving and were likely only in that field for five minutes or less — classic behavior when a cold front pushes through.

Even with the slow night, the hunters kept great attitudes, stayed patient, and were excited for Night 2. Clay said they were awesome.

Weather happens. Slow nights happen. But that’s what makes Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia so real. Nothing is guaranteed, and every night brings a different lesson in how these animals adapt to the environment around them.

With temperatures staying cold tomorrow, we’re hoping the hogs adjust quickly and movement picks back up. Night 2 of this Wild Hog Hunt is on the way…

Hunting Wild Hogs With Thermal

Hog Hunting In Georgia

Some nights test your patience, your wind reading, and your ability to adapt — and this was one of those nights. Guide Hank led this 1-Night Hog Hunt, and even with challenging conditions, the group still ended the night with solid success.

A Pig Right Out of the Gate

The Wild Hog Hunt began when the team spotted a hog from the road. As soon as they pulled into the field, the hog slipped into the treeline directly in front of them. That’s how fast things can change in South Georgia farmland — timing and movement matter.

A Sounder on the Opposite Side

Hank turned the group around and checked the opposite side of the field, where a full sounder was already out feeding. The wind wasn’t ideal, and the positioning made the approach tricky.

Even with those challenges, the team made the most of the opportunity and managed to connect with one of the hogs, though it moved off before they could reach it.

Real Hog Hunting isn’t always perfect. It teaches you how tough, aware, and resilient these animals are.

Returning to the First Spot

While searching the fields, the team noticed another hog back on the side where they originally started. They circled back, moved in carefully, and this time everything came together smoothly. The hog stayed in the open long enough for Hank to guide the group into a clean, controlled approach, ending with a successful recovery.

A Challenging but Successful Night

Every Thermal Hog Hunt is different. Nights like this remind you why Georgia Hog Hunting is such a unique experience.

Guiding Hog Hunts

Training Night in the Fields

When you’re learning how to Guide Thermal Hog Hunts in South Georgia, every field becomes a classroom — and last night, Max took Jordan out for a hands-on training hunt to work on spotting, stalking, and reading the wind.

Scanning the Farm at Sunset

Max and Jordan parked at the edge of the farm, geared up, and walked toward the center pivot to begin glassing. For the first 10–15 minutes, everything was quiet as they scanned for thermal signatures across the fields.

Then a Sounder of Hogs appeared, slipping out of the treeline and moving along the farm edge.

It was the perfect setup for a learning opportunity.

Planning the Approach

With a tailwind working against them, Max used the moment to teach Jordan how to plan a stalk when the wind isn’t ideal. They moved carefully, closing distance while staying as invisible as possible.

They set up once, adjusted, and moved a little closer to get into the right position — with Jordan joking about his pole falling over mid-setup.

Even in training, there’s always something that keeps you humble.

The Team Makes Their Move

Once the team was about 100 yards out, they settled in and made their move. One hog stayed in the field while another slipped back into cover — a perfect example of how unpredictable hogs can be, and how quickly things change even when everything is done right.

Jordan experienced firsthand just how tough these animals truly are.

Field Work, Photos & Butchering Practice

Afterward, they took photos, then spent time practicing field dressing and butchering — key skills every guide needs to master. Nights like this are what build confident guides and help keep the Pig Problem standard strong.

Training Nights Make Better Hunts

Every guide starts somewhere, and nights like this create the foundation for great Hog Hunts later. Between scanning, stalking, wind-reading, setup adjustments, and field work, Jordan got a full training run — and Max passed down the knowledge that makes Pig Problem what it is.

Another good night in the fields with the team.

When you book a Thermal Hog Hunt in Georgia, you never know what the first field of the night will bring — and this group started their 2-night Hog Hunt with exactly the kind of excitement hunters hope for. Guide Hank led the way for Night 1, and within minutes of rolling into the fields, the action began.

Spotting 5 Hogs in the First Field

The night kicked off strong when the group located five Wild Hogs right away. Because of the wind direction and the slope of the ground, the hogs stayed tucked just out of sight until the team got within roughly 60 yards.

A slow, controlled approach was key. Hank positioned everyone carefully so the group could make their move together once the hogs were fully in view.

A Clean Approach + Solid First Push

When the team finally stepped into position, things came together fast. The hunters connected with three hogs, while the remaining two slipped into the treeline. Had they not been that close to cover, the outcome could’ve been even bigger — but that’s part of real Georgia Hog Hunting. The terrain always keeps you guessing.

Covering Ground Across Multiple Fields

After the initial excitement, Hank and the crew continued moving across several more fields. Deer were active throughout the night, and the group stayed on the lookout for more hogs as they worked through the property.

Even without additional hog encounters, the night closed out strong. Three hogs on Night 1 is a solid start to any 2 Night Hog Hunt with a group of five.

Why Thermal Hog Hunting in South Georgia Is So Successful

Pig Problem specializes in Thermal Hog Hunts that take place on active farmland, where hogs are always on the move and causing damage. Wrapping Up Night 1 — On to Night 2

Night 1 was a successful kickoff to this group’s 2-night Thermal Boar Hunt with Hank. With three hogs recovered and plenty of wildlife movement, the stage is set for a big Night 2.

Stay tuned for the full recap.

Another exciting night of Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia with Pig Problem and Guide Hank (a.k.a. Luke)!

The night started like many of our Wild Hog Hunts do — cruising the backroads and scanning fields for heat signatures. After checking a few spots with nothing moving, the team finally pulled into a field and saw pigs scrambling at the far end. The wind was swirling, so the stalk had to be slow and careful.

They crept closer, staying just downwind until they got in range. Once the thermals lit up, the hunters got set and the chance happened — four hogs re-homed, with one more that managed to make it into the woods.

That’s the kind of night that keeps us hooked on Hog Hunting — every stalk is different, every chance counts, and every Boar Hunt tells a new story.

At Pig Problem, we specialize in Guided Night Hunts across South Georgia, chasing wild hogs that tear up farmland and crop fields. We don’t bait or sit in stands — we hunt, stalk, and go, giving you a true, hands-on Hunting Experience.

Whether you’re chasing your first pig or adding to your tally, Pig Problem delivers the thrill of Thermal Boar Hunting in Georgia — real guides, real pigs, and real fun.

This Wild Hog Hunt started off slow, but once the deer started moving heavy, the action picked up. Not long after 1am, they spotted a small sounder of pigs. They made the stalk, got in range, and they got big sow. Guide Kaleb scanned for others that might’ve been hit, but nothing turned up.

Later in the night, they found another Wild Hog, but it kept moving and slipped onto another property before we could get on it.

Great group of guys to have out — good laughs and a solid Thermal Hog Hunt.

Guided Hog Hunting

Hog Hunting with Guide Hank in Americus, GA

Photo: There’s Nothing Like It @PigProblem

When it comes to the wild world of Hog Hunting, nothing compares to the excitement of a Nighttime Hunting Adventure. Recently, Guide Hank had the pleasure of guiding these two hunters through two unforgettable nights in Americus, GA – it was a trip to remember!

Night 1: The Chase Begins

As the sun set, they made there way to the first field of the night. The air was ripe with anticipation as they spotted two skittish pigs roaming about. Anyone familiar with Hog Hunting knows that persistence is key, and our team was no stranger to that motto. They carefully Tracked the Wild Hogs, maintaining a low profile as they followed them through the field.

After several tense moments, luck was on there side: the Wild Pigs circled back towards them! With steady hands and quick reflexes, they managed to get a shot off, resulting in a successful takedown of one Wild Hog. Victory at its finest!

However, the adventures didn’t stop there. After the initial success, they continued the search but encountered a fallen tree obstructing the path. Rather than letting it halt there excitement, they hopped out of the van and worked together to clear the way.

Photo: I Can’t Believe Hank Moved This Tree @PigProblem

A true testament to the spirit of adventure! Although the night concluded without additional sightings, they returned to get some sleep for night 2 of Wild Hog Hunting. Night 1 was a great success.

Night 2: The Thrill of the Solo Hunt

After a restful night, they geared up for Night 2, ready for another round of Thermal Hog Hunting. As darkness blanketed the fields, Guide Hank spotted three Solo Pigs grazing in the distance. The excitement in the air was palpable!

The Hog Hunt became a game of strategy as Guide Hank positioned them carefully. Just as they were preparing for the shot, a group of deer startled and bolted, causing 2 of the pigs to retreat. Quick-thinking guided them, and focused the sights on the farthest pig. With precise shots, they successfully took it down.
