Night three of this 4-Night Thermal Hog Hunt in Americus, Georgia proved to be one of the most eventful nights of the Hunting Trip.

Early in the evening, a newly available field — recently opened back up after Deer Season — was checked for activity. Initial scans showed no movement, but just before moving on, thermal detection revealed a sounder entering the field. A careful setup followed, resulting in multiple successful recoveries before the area went quiet again.

Later in the night, around 1:00 a.m., another sounder was located. This encounter required a long, methodical stalk, with several repositioning attempts to maintain favorable angles and avoid detection. After multiple setups, conditions finally aligned, allowing for a productive outcome.

One hog broke from the group and charged toward the team, creating a fast-moving situation. Despite multiple confirmed hits, the animal continued forward before being successfully stopped at close range. The unexpected moment brought plenty of adrenaline and laughter once the situation was fully under control.

By the end of the night, multiple sounders had been located and several hogs were successfully recovered, making night three a standout example of how unpredictable and exciting Hog Hunting in Georgia can be.

The stalk came together perfectly. The group slipped in behind the sounder and made the most of the opportunity, resulting in five hogs successfully recovered — a strong finish to a night that demanded patience and persistence.

A Pig Right Out of the Gate

The Wild Hog Hunt began when the team spotted a hog from the road. As soon as they pulled into the field, the hog slipped into the treeline directly in front of them. That’s how fast things can change in South Georgia farmland — timing and movement matter.

A Sounder on the Opposite Side

Hank turned the group around and checked the opposite side of the field, where a full sounder was already out feeding. The wind wasn’t ideal, and the positioning made the approach tricky.

Guide Clay and his hunters covered plenty of ground before finding a small group of pigs in the second field. Some nights, it only takes one pig to make the whole Boar Hunt worth it. Guide Clayton headed out with Marianne and her husband for a night of Thermal Hog Hunting In Georgia, and despite the bright moonlight, the conditions lined up just right for a smooth stalk.

With heavy cloud coverage rolling in, the fields got dark enough to make a quiet approach possible. Around 10 p.m., the group spotted a single Wild Hog and began their stalk under the cover of the clouds. The timing couldn’t have been better — full moons usually make hogs wary and harder to sneak up on, but the darkness gave them the edge.

Marianne and her husband were calm, patient, and easy to work with — the kind of hunters that make every Hog Hunting Trip enjoyable. NIGHT 2

Night two of this 2-Night Hog Hunt was one for the books. After taking his first hog on the opening night, the birthday hunter added even more memories to his 21st celebration.

The evening started off slow, with deer moving through the fields. Then, an armadillo made its way across the field, giving the hunter the chance to check another animal off his list. Not long after, a coyote appeared within 100 yards, and with a quick setup, that one was added as well.

But the focus of the night was still on finding hogs. Around 4 a.m., Guide Kaleb spotted a sounder of pigs over a mile away, confirmed on onX. The team adjusted quickly, moving out and around to get into position on the field. The stalk paid off—one hog went down in the open field, while another disappeared into thick cover and couldn’t be recovered.

By the end of the night, the hunters were calling it the “Georgia trifecta”—a Wild Boar, an armadillo, and a coyote all on the same hunt. It was the perfect finish to this Guided Hog Hunt in South Georgia, filled with late-night action, unique encounters, and memories that will last a lifetime.

This Wild Hog Hunt started off slow, but once the deer started moving heavy, the action picked up. Not long after 1am, they spotted a small sounder of pigs. They made the stalk, got in range, and they got big sow. Guide Kaleb scanned for others that might’ve been hit, but nothing turned up.

Later in the night, they found another Wild Hog, but it kept moving and slipped onto another property before we could get on it.

2 Night Hog Hunt

Guide Kaleb led a determined crew on a 2 Night Hog Hunt packed with action and persistence.

Night one brought a few close encounters. After a careful stalk on a Lone Hog, all three Hog Hunters connected—but the smart Boar made a quick escape into the treeline. Later, a Sounder was spotted on the move, but they crossed into an area out of reach. The rest of the night was full of deer sightings and high spirits.

Night two was a different story. Right at dusk, a Big Sow stepped into the field. A clean approach led to a solid harvest. Later, they crossed paths with the same Small Sounder from the night before—this time getting the upper hand and picking up two more Wild Hogs to end the Thermal Hog Hunt.

Slower movement capped off the night, but the hunters stayed sharp and positive. Kaleb said it best—great attitudes, great aim, and a Thermal Hunt to remember.
