Some Hog Hunts stand out not just for the pigs you find, but for the people you Hunt with — and this night with Darrell was easily one of Clay’s favorites of the season. From the moment they met, the two hit it off, talking and laughing through nearly the entire Thermal Hog Hunt. It felt less like guiding and more like chasing hogs with an old friend.

The night couldn’t have started better.
The very first field Clay pulled into held a Big Georgia Boar, standing broadside in the open. Darrell set up calmly, took one clean chance, and the Wild Boar never took another step. A picture-perfect start to the Boar Hunt.

Later in the night, the crew came across a sounder of around 20 hogs. The stalk came together quickly, but the fast-moving group slipped into the treeline before a recovery could be made. Clay searched the edge of the woods thoroughly but wasn’t able to locate any hogs inside the cover — a reminder of how unpredictable and fast wild hogs can be, even under thermal.

Even so, the night remained a great experience. Good company, a Big Boar on the ground, and plenty of stories to take home. Hunts like this are exactly why we love what we do.

Wild Hog Hunting In Cold Weather

Cold weather changes everything in Georgia Hog Hunting, and this night proved it. The temperature dropped hard, the air was sharp, and the Pigs were on the move from the moment Guide Clay hit the fields.

Pigs were everywhere, but they weren’t holding still. Over the course of the night, Clay made four solid stalks, each one quiet, patient, and perfectly executed — but every time he closed in, the pigs drifted straight into the treeline before the team could get set.
It was one of those classic right place, wrong time situations that every hunter knows well.

Even with pigs constantly slipping into cover, persistence paid off.
Clay eventually got the team lined up on a pair of hogs, and both were successfully recovered in the field — a clean finish to a night full of movement and challenges.

The fields were soft from recent rain, and at one point Clay managed to get the van stuck (again). But in true guide fashion, a shovel, traction pads, and a lot of determination got everything back on track. That’s part of Hog Hunting farmland — conditions change fast, and guides adapt right along with them.

Despite the cold and the constant pig movement, it was another successful and memorable night of Thermal Hog Hunting with Pig Problem.

Guide Hank kicked off another great Thermal Hog Hunt in Georgia, and the action started early.

The night was crisp and cold — perfect for spotting movement across the open fields. Before long, the team located their first pig of the night out in a cut cornfield, and the stalk was on. It was a textbook setup, quiet and steady, leading to an early success that set the tone for the evening.

As the night went on, the crew covered more ground, exploring new fields and tree lines. Just when things seemed to settle down, another surprise came — a pig dashed out in front of the van, making for a close (and funny) encounter to wrap up the night.

Some Hog Hunts keep you humble — and this was one of them.

Guide Clayton led a two-night Thermal Hog Hunt in Georgia, and while the first night was quiet, night two brought some long-awaited action. Around 2 a.m., the team finally spotted a Big Boar with the wind perfectly in their favor. Everything lined up just right… until it didn’t.

It took several well-placed rounds before the hog took off for the trees without showing much reaction. Wild hogs are unbelievably tough animals — with thick skin, dense muscle, and layers of tough cartilage that can make even a clean hit look like nothing happened. It’s no wonder they’re one of the hardest mammals in North America to drop clean.

Their hides evolved to protect them from predators and, more importantly, from each other. Boars use their tusks — razor-sharp and dangerous — to fight for dominance, and that thick skin is their armor. It’s part of what makes Boar Hunting in Georgia so challenging and so impressive.

Even though this Boar disappeared into the trees, the Hog Hunt was far from a loss. Hunting Wild Boars

Some nights out Hunting in Georgia turn quiet — and then suddenly everything happens at once.

Guide Clayton led a father-and-son duo on a Thermal Hog Hunt that started off with great stories and easy conversation. They covered field after field, scanning through the night with their Thermal, but the pigs weren’t showing themselves early on.

Then, around 2 a.m., everything changed. The group spotted a Big Single Boar about 150 yards out in the open. They got set up, took their shots, and dropped the pig clean. Just two seconds later, a Coyote came prancing out and stopped right in front of them — the son didn’t hesitate and dropped it with one perfect shot.

Two animals, one incredible moment. Both the hog and coyote dropped less than 20 feet apart, ending the night with an unforgettable story and plenty of laughs.

There’s nothing better than watching two generations team up for a night of Thermal Hog Hunting in Americus, Georgia. Guide Clayton led Tim and his 13-year-old grandson Hudson on a one-night Pig Problem Hog Hunt, and their goal was simple — help Hudson get his very first Pig.

They got on a single early in the night, but after two rounds the hog made it to the trees. Disappointing? Sure. But like any good Hog Hunters, they didn’t give up. Around 3 AM, they spotted another single out in the field — and this time, they made it count.

It took a few rounds, but they kept their cool, learned from their first setup, and stayed on aim until the pig went to sleep. Teamwork, patience, and persistence paid off — and Hudson got his first Wild Hog!

When most people think of a bachelor party, they picture Las Vegas or the beach. But these young guys had a different idea: they wanted a real adventure and came down to Americus, Georgia for a Guided Hog Hunt with Pig Problem.

The night started off quiet, with no hogs in sight for hours. But just before sunrise, around 5 a.m., guide Clayton spotted a Sounder of Hogs across the field. The group made a careful stalk through cut corn — a tricky and noisy terrain that can make it tough to stay undetected. Despite the challenge, they managed to close the distance and set up for a shot.

This Boar Hunt was a night to remember on this Georgia Hog Hunt. These returning hunters have been out with us several times, and after plenty of hard work we finally sealed the deal tonight.

Around midnight, Guide Kaleb spotted a sounder of wild hogs nearly 900 yards out. After a long stalk, they got set up and connected in the field. Later in the night, another sounder was located. With one hunter sitting out, Kaleb joined in alongside the other hunter, and together they put the pressure on the hogs. By the end of the night, they got four hogs.

The hunters were grateful for the opportunity and thankful to have been put right on the pigs. Nights like this are what make Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia such an Unforgettable Hunting Trip.

Night 1

Last night kicked off a two-night Boar Hunt with Pig Problem, and Guide Kaleb led the way. The night began quietly with coyotes and deer moving through the fields, but patience always pays off in Hog Hunting. Before long, the group spotted Wild Hogs and set up for a careful stalk.

The pigs slipped into the tree line, and for a while it seemed like they might have disappeared for good. But with persistence and steady movement, the hunters found themselves back in position. The hard work paid off, and the team successfully put one hog on the ground while another slipped back into the woods.

It was the kind of Guided Hunt that reminds us why we love Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia—the challenge, the strategy, and the reward of being in the right place at the right time. The group shared laughs, swapped hunting stories, and ended the night with excitement for what’s to come.

Thermal Boar Hunting

Night 1

The Hog Hunt began under light rain with little movement in sight. As the weather cleared, deer began to appear, but still no sign of Wild Hogs. Spirits started to dip, but just after 4 AM, the guide spotted a Lone Boar rooting along the field’s edge. With wind in their favor and clouds covering the moon, it was the perfect setup for a silent approach. The group got into position, and the Wild Boar got a picture. Excitement was high, and the Hog Hunters were thrilled to finally have their moment.

Night 2

The second night was calm and clear, with a bright moon lighting up the fields. Deer were everywhere once again, and while no Pigs showed, a curious Coyote made things interesting. The guide attempted to call it in, but the coyote circled and caught their scent before disappearing. Even without a harvest, the night was full of stories, laughs, and memories under the stars. The hunters were a fantastic group to share this Thermal Hog Hunt with, and both nights of Hog Hunting will be ones to remember.
