Guide Captain Max led a Father and Daughter Hog Hunt for Pig Problem. This Family Hunting duo found a sounder under an oak tree and took out 4 Wild Hogs. Night 2 of this two-night Wild Hog Hunt began with a long stalk that didn’t pan out. On one of the first fields we checked, pigs were present but our wind was wrong — the hogs caught the scent of the van and moved off quickly. Wind is the most crucial factor in Guided Hog Hunting: it can shift at any moment, and hogs have an exceptional sense of smell.

Later, they moved to another field and immediately found a group of six pigs, taking one in that encounter. At the next field they checked, they found more hogs and harvested four. After working several fields with no additional sign, they found a new field with a sounder. We made a long stalk and brought down three from that group.

Friday started off rough with the weather being thunder and lightning, but after a bit the weather settled and Hogs started tearing up fields. The kids were able to get 1 out of 7 down. This week, Clayton led a Hog Hunt father and son who traveled down from South Carolina to experience Hog Hunting in the United States. While the night tested their patience, it ended with the kind of success that defines the Pig Problem experience.
The clock hit midnight just as Clayton’s thermal caught a heat signature on the move. It was a large single traveler, deep in the field. The duo moved into position with perfect discipline, executing a stealthy approach that brought them within range.
They took their chances, and the connection was clear, but this was a legendary "iron-hided" boar. He took the chances like a man, found his gear, and bolted into the thick timber before a recovery could be made. The night was a 'Great Success,' resulting in Hazel’s first confirmed pig recoveries. This type of Family Hunting experience is what makes our work so rewarding. There’s nothing better than watching two generations team up for a night of Thermal Hog Hunting in Americus, Georgia. Guide Clayton led Tim and his 13-year-old grandson Hudson on a one-night Pig Problem Hog Hunt, and their goal was simple — help Hudson get his very first Pig.
They got on a single early in the night, but after two rounds the hog made it to the trees. Disappointing? Sure. But like any good Hog Hunters, they didn’t give up. Around 3 AM, they spotted another single out in the field — and this time, they made it count.
It took a few rounds, but they kept their cool, learned from their first setup, and stayed on aim until the pig went to sleep. Teamwork, patience, and persistence paid off — and Hudson got his first Wild Hog!

This Hog Hunt was all about the experience. A father rode along to watch his two sons and their friend take on the Thermal Hunting, and they made it a night to remember.
After a quiet start, they spotted three Big Pigs. The stalk was tough, with deer all around and close calls that almost ruined the chance. Kaleb made the call to wait—and it paid off. Two Wild Hogs came back out, and the Young Hunters stayed patient and ready.
It wasn’t easy, but the group worked together and made it happen. A night full of heart and memories they’ll never forget.

The pictures say it all. This was a Birthday Hunt and this young man’s First Hunt and we are happy it could be with us at Pig Problem. Not long into the night, they spotted a small Sounder of Pigs. One was re-homed in the field while another made it to the tree-line. You could see he was hooked right away. Buck fever was real.
Later, they moved northwest to avoid the weather and found another Wild Hog, but it got spooked by a car. An hour later, back in the same field, a Big Lone Boar was hanging out. They made the stalk, adrenaline was pumping, and the Young Hunter re-homed the Pig on the run.
It was a night to remember. The family said they’ll definitely be back. In the dad’s words: “You made this night special—thank you.”
