Professional Guiding and Thermal Hog Hunting

At Pig Problem, safety is our #1 priority. On the second field of the night, our thermal imaging located a sounder positioned in a high-stakes area: the Wild Hogs was situated directly between a local residence and a pivot irrigation system.

This is where expert guiding makes the difference. Noah and Max managed the line perfectly, ensuring a window of engagement that resulted in a successful harvest from the sounder while maintaining a strict cease-fire once the targets moved toward the residence. This level of discipline is why we are considered the premier choice for Night Hog Hunts in Georgia.

Hunting Hogs: The "Cartwheel" Connection

Wild Hog Hunting

The night was filled with high-adrenaline moments for Thermal Hog Hunting. While a single traveler managed to slip into the timber early in the evening, the team stayed focused on the next opportunity.

The highlight of the night came during the third engagement. The team located a pig on the move and executed a perfect lead. The connection was so solid it sent the animal into a full "cartwheel"—a testament to the stopping power and precision of our equipment when the chance is placed correctly.

Why Hog SWAT is the Top Choice for Hog Hunting in the United States

Whether we are training the next generation of expert hunting guides or celebrating a major life milestone like a 21st birthday, we provide an experience that goes beyond the harvest. We combine the thrill of the Wild Hog Hunt with the highest standards of safety and thermal technology, ensuring every Hunting Trip in Georgia is a success.

Guided Hog Hunting

This Guided Hog Hunt was for a 40th birthday celebration, and we set out for a one-night adventure in the fields. The night started off slow—quiet skies, little movement, and even with the scout covering territory for us, pigs were hard to come by.

Around 3:30 AM, they finally caught sight of a group of pigs in the distance, busy rooting in the field. They made a careful stalk and managed to close the distance to about 300 yards. Just as things were lining up, a sharp, high-pitched sound came from the nearby woods—something between a deer blow and a whistle. Whatever it was, it startled the pigs enough to send them running, passing right in front of us before disappearing into the dark.

By the time it all settled down, it was close to 4 AM and time to call it a night. Not every Wild Hog Hunt ends with a shot, but that’s all part of the experience—some nights, the pigs win.

NIGHT 2

Night two of this 2-Night Hog Hunt was one for the books. After taking his first hog on the opening night, the birthday hunter added even more memories to his 21st celebration.

The evening started off slow, with deer moving through the fields. Then, an armadillo made its way across the field, giving the hunter the chance to check another animal off his list. Not long after, a coyote appeared within 100 yards, and with a quick setup, that one was added as well.

But the focus of the night was still on finding hogs. Around 4 a.m., Guide Kaleb spotted a sounder of pigs over a mile away, confirmed on onX. The team adjusted quickly, moving out and around to get into position on the field. The stalk paid off—one hog went down in the open field, while another disappeared into thick cover and couldn’t be recovered.

By the end of the night, the hunters were calling it the “Georgia trifecta”—a Wild Boar, an armadillo, and a coyote all on the same hunt. It was the perfect finish to this Guided Hog Hunt in South Georgia, filled with late-night action, unique encounters, and memories that will last a lifetime.

The pictures say it all. This was a Birthday Hunt and this young man’s First Hunt and we are happy it could be with us at Pig Problem. Not long into the night, they spotted a small Sounder of Pigs. One was re-homed in the field while another made it to the tree-line. You could see he was hooked right away. Buck fever was real.

Later, they moved northwest to avoid the weather and found another Wild Hog, but it got spooked by a car. An hour later, back in the same field, a Big Lone Boar was hanging out. They made the stalk, adrenaline was pumping, and the Young Hunter re-homed the Pig on the run.

It was a night to remember. The family said they’ll definitely be back. In the dad’s words: “You made this night special—thank you.”

There’s something special about spending time in The Outdoors with Family — especially when it’s centered around tradition, adventure, and good memories. This past week, Capt. Max had the pleasure of guiding a 2-Night Hunt for Easton and his family, and it was one for the books.

Easton’s birthday celebration was more than just a Hog Hunt — it was a Family Hunt. Surrounded by relatives who share a love for the outdoors, Easton got to celebrate his big day with a Hog Hunting Trip he’ll never forget. The group brought great energy, positive attitudes, and a shared appreciation for responsible Hunting. It’s always refreshing to guide folks who not only understand the importance of land and wildlife management, but who also take time to pass those values down to the next generation.

Family Hog Hunts like this remind us why we do what we do. Seeing Young Hunters out in the field, learning the ropes and building memories with parents, uncles, and grandparents — that’s what it’s all about. It’s more than just time outside. It’s about connection, mentorship, and setting the stage for a lifelong respect for the outdoors.

Over the course of two nights, the group did a great job of re-homing Wild Pigs and helping support local farmers. Everyone played a part, and Easton handled the challenge like a seasoned pro. Watching him step up and take in every part of the experience with maturity and excitement made this Birthday Hunting Trip one that’ll be talked about for years.

At Pig Problem, we love seeing families come together in the field. These moments build bonds, teach responsibility, and ensure that the next generation keeps the tradition alive — the right way.

Happy birthday, Easton! We’re proud to have been a part of your celebration, and we hope to see you and your crew back again soon.
